Search Alert

Be notified by email of new documents in Scopus that match the search in your alert. You can create a search alert from the Search History page, the Search Results page and the My Settings page.

How to Create a Search Alert

  1. Enter and run a search.
  2. Above the Search results, click  Set alert.
  3. In the Name of alert field, enter a name for the alert.
  4. Enter an E-mail address for alert notifications. Note: You can also enter email addresses of colleagues. Separate multiple email addresses with a semicolon, comma or space.
  5. From the Frequency drop-down list, select how often you want to receive alert email notices. Note: You do not receive an email if there are no alerts during the frequency you select.
  6. Select either HTML or Text as format for your alert email.
  7. Select Active or Inactive as the status of your alert..
  8. Click Save. You will receive an email confirmation summarizing all alert preferences you have set.

Document Citation Alert

Be alerted by email every time a selected document is cited on Scopus. You can create a Document Citation Alert from the Documents Display page and the My Alerts page.  Note: Non-Scopus citations derived from Scopus references are not included.

How to Create a Document Citation Alert

1. Select the document.

2. From the Scopus Abstract screen on the right you will see a box that shows the amount of times this particular paper has been cited in Scopus.  To be notified when the paper receives additional citations select the Set Alert button.

Author Citation Alert

Be notified by email when an author is cited on Scopus. You can create an Author Citation Alert on the Author Details page and from the Cited by information.

How to Create an Author Citation Alert

1.  Select the author from either the search or the abstract screens.

2. From the author profile screen there are several places to create new two kinds of alerts. 

  • To be alerted by email every time that an author’s work is cited by another work select the “Set Citation Alert” button under the “Profile Actions” section. 
  • To be notified when the author publishes a new paper select the “Set Documents Alert” button under the “Profile Actions” section.
